Volume 15, Number 7 – January 2015
We Are a Welcoming Congregation
Upcoming Services
Services are on alternate Sundays at 10 AM
January 11: Rev. Suzanne Wasilczuk The Profit of Prophets Our second Source tells us we draw our Living Tradition from “words and deeds of prophetic women and men which challenge us to confront powers and structures of evil with justice, compassion, and the transforming power of love.” This month, as we remember the work of the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., we review some of those ancient prophets and their messages. And we ask, who are our current-day prophets?
January 25: Betsy Schussler What if Dr. Jekyll Had Met the Buddha?
Events:
Adult R.E.: Adult RE is on alternate Sundays at 10 AM.

Arts in Our Community: The Boulder Junction Library now has rotating art exhibits. If you'd be interested in showing your work for 2-3 months at a time, visit www.boulderjunction.wislib.org. for more details and an application. I will be showing 7 of my pieces from January 5 through March 31. There will be a reception on Tuesday, January 13 from 4-6 PM at the library in the new Boulder Junction Community Center. Elinore
MLK Day Event: This year's MLK Day event features Judy Goldsmith, past president of the National Organization for Women (NOW). Her presentation will be on Monday, January 15, at 1 PM at St. Augustine's Episcopal Church in Rhinelander and at 6 PM at the Woodruff Community Center. We will need volunteers for both events, but particularly the one in Woodruff. Contact Rich Uspel or Diane Reupert if you can help. More details to follow.

Community Dinner: Three times a year we assist with the cooking, serving, dining and clean-up of the community dinner held at St. Matthias. Our next turn will be Tuesday, January 20. We always need a variety of food and helpers. More details to follow.
President's Message - - - Dec. 29, 2014
Now that winter has finally and officially arrived, and the daylight hours are increasing instead of shrinking, I feel a new tiny bit of optimism about getting through the chilly days ahead. I find the winter days a good time to read, to be with family for sharing love, to gather friends for sharing thoughts, to share some music with fellow musicians, to reflect upon where I am in life and upon whom I choose to share it with. Our Fellowship has become a larger and larger part of that final category.
I often ponder over just why I find our Fellowship so satisfying, and the coming of the new year seems a good time to do even more such thinking. Even if I never find the actual reasons for my satisfaction with my membership here, perhaps I should just find new and more ways to enjoy what I already have, a group of similar-thinking, accepting friends. Thank you all for being who you are and know that I wish you all the best possible new year you can imagine! Bob
